Professional Qualifications

 

Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi graduated from medical school in 2001 and obtained his Masters of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) from National University of Singapore in 2005. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgical Training in 2009 and graduated as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (FRCS) and as a Fellow of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (FEBOT).

 

Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi was subsequently awarded a Clinical Fellowship in Trauma and Arthroplasty in Germany (2009) by SICOT organization after topping the Diploma Exams (Dip SICOT). He was also awarded by the ‘AO Trauma Education’ institute to pursue another Clinical Fellowship in Complex Trauma in Fribourg, Switzerland (2012).

 

To further his sub-specialty orthopaedic training, Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi was awarded a training scholarship by the Ministry of Health and completed Clinical Fellowships in Innsbruck, Austria for the duration of 1 year to pursue his clinical interest in Adult Trauma and Joint Replacement Surgery as well as a Fellowship in Geriatric Fracture Management (2012/2013).

 

Besides his sub-speciality interest he is also an experience teacher and lecturer and has a Diploma in Medical Education from Cardiff University, United Kingdom. His current practice involves management of patients with Complex Fractures and patients requiring Joint Replacement or Reconstruction with a particular interest in the aging population (Geriatric Orthopaedics).

Healthcare Contributions

 

Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi was awarded the Public Healthcare Clinician Special Recognition Award in 2013 and a Quality Improvement Award in 2014 for his outstanding clinical, research and teaching contributions. Besides professional achievements, he has also made significant contributions socially.

Educational Contributions

 

Prior to establishing private practice, Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi was a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and was instrumental in establishing and executing the first ever Geriatric Hip Fracture Care Pathway in Singapore. With more than 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi has been actively involved in teaching medical students and residents in Orthopaedic Training as a Senior Clinical Lecturer with National University of Singapore and an Assistant Professor with Lee Kong Chian Medical School at Nanyang Technology University. Besides clinical and teaching activities, he has extensive scientific publications in Orthopaedic Trauma and Geriatric Fracture Management. He is also a reviewer for several international Orthopaedic journals.

Social Contributions

 

Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi was involved actively in the Mercy Relief’s Disaster Team that rendered humanitarian relief to the victims of the earthquake in Central Java, Indonesia in 2006 and received a Health Award for his commendable performance in the Medical Relief Effort. As a veteran of humanitarian projects, Dr. Hitendra K Doshi continues to be involved in regular social service activities including medical camps and public health seminars in English, bahasa Indonesia and bahasa Melayu. The local press has also interviewed him for his significant clinical contributions on several occasions. Besides English, Malay and Indonesian language, Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi also speaks fluent Hindi and Gujarati.
